McGerks Pub and Grill, a bar and restaurant chain with establishments in the Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Greensboro, North Carolina regions, is set to expand its footprint with a new location in Middletown Township in the coming months.
The new location will be located in the Summit Square Shopping Center. It will take over the space formerly occupied by Manny Brown’s, which closed in late 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
After plans for a Mexican restaurant and bar to occupy the Manny Brown’s location fell through, McGerks Pub and Grill took the spot to establish its first Bucks County outpost.
McGerks Pub and Grill obtained a liquor license for the storefront location that is being built out, according to public records.
With six locations, McGerks Pub and Grill continues its expansion, including another upcoming spot in Royersford, Montgomery County.
McGerks Pub and Grill has yet to announce opening dates for these new establishments.
Founded in 2000 by John and Paul Dolaway, McGerks Pub and Grill has grown over the year and a menu that features cheesesteaks, jumbo crab pretzels, tempura pickles, and nachos. Each location prides itself on offering a selection of local craft beers and fresh-squeezed crush cocktails, catering to a wide range of tastes.
The name McGerks is a homage to John Dolaway’s three daughters. The name is derived from the first initials of their first and middle names arranged to form “MaGerk.”
