A school bus headed to Wrightstown Elementary School caught fire Friday morning.

The incident happened near the intersection of Durham and Penns Park roads in Wrightstown Township, according to officials from the Council Rock School District.

The Council Rock Transportation Department confirmed that all students and the bus driver were safely cleared from the bus and no injuries were reported.

Police said there were 36 students on the bus.

“Council Rock students are safe,” the district said in an email to parents.

Firefighters, police, and school officials responded to the scene shortly around 8:30 a.m.

A photo posted on social media showed the bus had serious damage from the blaze.

The school district arranged for a replacement bus to transport the students to Wrightstown Elementary School.
