An upgrade to the intersection of Washington and Lincoln avenues in Newtown Borough is moving along.
The roughly $500,000 project, which is partially funded by a $271,000 grant from PennDOT, includes several enhancements designed to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety.
The improvements at the busy intersection feature new signal heads and poles, LED countdown pedestrian signals, and fresh pavement markings. Additional safety measures include the construction of accessible concrete sidewalks and curb ramps.
Work at the intersection began in March.
