A sign has gone up teasing the new store that will replace the former Wrightstown Country Store.

A reader noted last week that a sign has gone up in the window of the vacant Wrightstown Country Store property at the corner of Durham Road (Route 413) and Penns Park Road for the upcoming opening of “Skip’s,” which will offer breakfast sandwiches, coffee, chicken sandwiches, tenders, and loaded fries.

The sign in the window has teased a summer opening.

Earlier this year, the Wrightstown Township Board of Supervisors approved a conditional use application for the adaptive reuse of the property, which includes the main store, an attached retail shop, and a two-bedroom apartment.

Local entrepreneur Tom Coates, owner of the nearby Transcend Fitness Club, along with his wife, purchased the vacant property late last year.

Through their attorney, Ed Murphy, Coates shared with the supervisors earlier this year that while they plan to update the building’s interior and exterior, but the overall function and size of the space will remain consistent with its past uses.

The site is also expected to house an organic herbal supplement company, which is already established in New Hope Borough.

The Wrightstown Country Store closed in January 2020.
