Firefighters Extinguish Blaze At Newtown Township Home

Crews were called Wednesday morning.

Firefighters put out a blaze in a home in Newtown Township on Wednesday.

The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. in the unit block of Chickory Place in the Fawn Hollow development off Eagle Road.

Firefighters from multiple companies were able to extinguish the flames.

According to Newtown Fire-Rescue, everyone escaped from the house, and it was brought under control quickly.

After the fire was put out, crews were spotted hosing down hot spots inside the residence.

Investigators from the township’s emergency services and police department were at the scene.

The cause was not released as of Wednesday evening.

In addition to Newtown Fire-Rescue, the Northampton Township Fire Department, Middletown Township Department of Fire and Emergency Services, and Upper Makefield Fire Company responded to assist. The Newtown Ambulance Squad was also on the scene with police.

In a social media post, Newtown Fire-Rescue officials said the Penndel and Lingohocken fire companies covered for Newtown Township and Borough while they were tied up at the fire call. The covering fire companies gave local kids a tour of the Newtown fire museum.
