Juveniles Detained As Part Of Newtown Theft Investigation

Police activity led from Newtown into Middletown.

A large response by law enforcement from several municipalities led to the detention of multiple juveniles as part of an ongoing retail theft investigation in Newtown Township.

Police in Newtown Township were dispatched shortly before noon Wednesday for a reported retail theft, sources said.

Several teens were were apprehended along Langhorne-Newtown Road in Middletown near the campus of George School a short time later, sources said.

According to Newtown Township Police Captain Jason Harris, those involved were juveniles and details of the incident are still being investigated.

A LevittownNow.com and NewtownPANow.com reader reported seeing officers collecting at least two bags from them along the roadway.

Officers from Newtown Borough and Lower Makefield Township were spotted assisting Newtown Township and Middletown Township police.

The police activity caused minor traffic delays in the area.
