Newtown Township police have released new details on a retail theft earlier this week that led to a multi-agency law enforcement response.

Officers were dispatched to the Lululemon store at the Village at Newtown around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of a retail theft in progress.

According to the report relayed to officers, three males and one female took several items from the store without paying and fled the scene in a grey Hyundai, police said.

During the search for the suspects, police discovered that the Hyundai had been reported stolen out of Philadelphia earlier that morning.

The grey Hyundai was later found unoccupied in Middletown Township, police said.

Shortly before noon, police from Newtown Borough, Newtown Township, Middletown Township, and Lower Makefield Township were spotted responding to the area near George School along Langhorne-Newtown Road in Middletown Township.

As a result of the investigation, the four suspects—three teenagers and one adult—were located on foot in the vicinity of George School and were taken into custody without incident, according to police.

A reader of LevittownNow.com and NewtownPANow.com reported seeing officers collecting at least two bags from the suspects along the roadway.
