Deer To Blame For Newtown Motorcycle Crash

A motorcyclist narrowly escaped serious injuries early Friday morning after a deer collided with him on Swamp Road.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. on Swamp Road near Twining Bridge Road.

The motorcyclist was traveling along Swamp Road when the deer struck, causing the single-vehicle crash, according to police Captain Jason Harris.

The motorcyclist avoided serious injuries, Harris said.

In addition to police, Newtown Fire Rescue and Newtown Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.
