With weeks until the 2024 election, third quarter Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings released this week show where the race for the First Congressional District stands in terms of finances.
Democratic candidate Ashley Ehasz raised more than incumbent Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick last quarter, collecting $1,259,968 compared to Fitzpatrick’s $911,690.
“By outraising Brian Fitzpatrick by over $350,000 and bringing in over $1.25 million in Q3 alone, which is more than any other Democrat in PA-01 history, Bucks and Montgomery counties have shown that we are ready for change. I am extraordinarily proud of and grateful for the support our campaign has generated as we work to reach and mobilize voters across PA-01,” said Rachel Berlowe Binder, Ehasz’s campaign manager.
Fitzpatrick’s campaign spent $265,104, and Ehasz spent $1,679,733 during the quarter, according to the data.
As the final weeks of the campaign approached, Fitzpatrick’s campaign held a substantial war chest with $4.5 million on hand, while Ehasz’s campaign had $912,140.
The period covered in the most recent FEC filings spanned from July to the end of September.
The First Congressional District, which covers all of Bucks County and parts of Montgomery County, is a nationally watched district.
Fitzpatrick has represented the district since 2017 and succeeded his brother, the late Mike Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick’s campaign didn’t respond to an email seeking comment and doesn’t respond to requests for comment.
