Firefighters Quickly Control Newtown Garage Blaze

The fire drew several companies to the area.

A quick response from local fire departments Sunday morning led to a garage fire on Waterford Drive being placed under control within minutes of their arrival.

Newtown Fire Rescue was dispatched to the dwelling fire in Newtown Township at 7:56 a.m.

Crews arrived to find the fire was located in the garage, according to Newtown Fire Rescue Chief Glenn Forsyth.

The fire was declared under control at 8:10 a.m., Forsyth said.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Newtown Fire Rescue with assistance from the Newtown Township Police Department, said Glenn Forsyth.

Newtown Fire Rescue was assisted at the scene by the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, Lingohocken Fire Company, Northampton Township Fire Department, and Upper Makefield Fire Company. The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company covered while crews were at the scene, and Newtown EMS responded.
