A woman has died following a two-vehicle crash that happened Tuesday morning on Durham Road in Wrightstown Topwnship, police confirmed.

Newtown Township police, the Lingohocken Fire Company, and several local ambulance squads responded to the 400 block of Durham Road at 11:07 a.m. after receiving calls for a serious crash, according to Newtown Township police, who patrol Wrightstown Township.

Crews arrived to discover a Jeep Cherokee overturned with three people inside.

A second vehicle, a Honda Odyssey, was located in a nearby grassy area with one occupant, police said.

According to preliminary findings by police, the Honda Odyssey was stopped in the northbound lane of Durham Road and was attempting to turn left into a local business. The Jeep, which was also traveling northbound, was unable to stop. As the Honda began its turn, the Jeep entered the oncoming lane, leading to the collision.

All four adults involved in the crash were transported to a local hospital.

One woman later succumbed to her injuries, police confirmed.

The fatal crash remains under investigation as of Wednesday.

Anyone with information on the crash has been asked to contact Officer Nicklaus Whitney at 215-579-1000 ext. 316.
