The owners of Árdana Food and Drink announced Wednesday evening that they have finalized an agreement to sell their Newtown location to the LaScala Restaurant Group.

The Mediterranean-style restaurant and bar, which is operated by Mike and Antoni Christou, has served the Village of Newtown for three and a half years.
The transition will take place this fall.
The spot originally opened in 2023 and took over the space previously occupied by Solstice, which closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a note issued Wednesday, the Christou family expressed appreciation for their staff and customers while confirming the sale.
“We’re incredibly grateful to this community and to our amazing team, many of whom will be continuing on with LaScala, for helping make this restaurant what it is today,” the family said in the statement.

While selling the Newtown Township establishment, the family noted they will maintain their other operations.
“This isn’t goodbye,” the statement read. “It’s simply the start of a new chapter, and our story is far from over. While we’re passing the torch here, we’ll still be doing what we love at our Warrington restaurants, Árdana Food & Drink and KC Prime Steakhouse.”
The family did not disclose the financial terms of the deal or an exact closing date for the transition to LaScala Restaurant Group.

LaScala Restaurant Group has its roots in Delaware County in 1969. It has grown to include everything from upscale LaScala’s Fire to The Chicken or the Egg in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
