A credit card stolen from a Newtown Township gym was used Monday at a Middletown store, and police are looking to identify the man who attempted to use it.
Newtown police say a woman at Opitmal Sport Gym in the 800 block of Newtown-Yardley Road had the window smashed out of her car and her purse stolen from inside between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday. The purse contained the woman’s credit cards.
Around 7:25 p.m. that same night, a man attempted to use one of the woman’s credit cards at the Target store on East Lincoln Highway in Middletown. Due to the value of the purchase, the card was denied and the suspect left the store, police said.
Anyone with information on the man who tried to use the card or has had a similar incident happen to them is asked to call Officer Daniel Bartle at 215-579-1000 ext. 288 or via email at danb@twp.newtown.pa.us.
