The Council Rock School District has reached agreement on a three year contract with its Administrators Association.

Contract discussions, which began in November, were finally approved Thursday, July 21. The agreement, which is retroactive to July 1, is effective through June 30, 2019. The Administrators Association represents 40 school administrarotrs throughout the district.

The new contract will provide average annual salary increases of 2.39%, 2.42%, and 2.17% over the contract’s three years. The increase in each year of the contract is notably less than the Bucks County average increase of 2.91%, according to a recent release by the school district.

Members of the association have also agreed to pay the same premium shares for their health insurance as the district’s professional staff (Council Rock Education Association, CREA, which includes teachers), and they will contribute 17% of health care premiums to maintain their current plans. A lower cost health care plan will also be available with a 12% contribution rate.

A recent release notes that association members will also gain an additional personal day under the new contract, aligning them with the CREA and the Council Rock Educational Support Professional Association.

“We’re pleased to have reached an agreement that we believe is fair for both the district and its administrators,” said Council Rock School Board President Andy Block. “Increasing demands on everyone across the educational system are intensified as districts face more and more unfunded mandates and reporting requirements. The workloads of our administrators continue to escalate, especially as we have reduced administrative headcount. Additionally, in today’s environment, it’s harder to attract and retain experienced, quality administrators.”
