Police Log: Man Found On Ground Near Bank, Bicyclist Injured & More

July 30

Public Drunkenness

Shortly before 6 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of the Wells Fargo Bank on South Eagle Road for a report of a male subject lying on the ground.  Responding officers located the man who was sleeping.  It took the officer several attempts to wake the man, who was identified as 21-year-old Adam Bachman of Sequoia Drive in Newtown Township.  Bachman was disoriented and disheveled.  The officer detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages and Bachman was confused and very unsteady on his feet.  Since Bachman was unable to find someone to pick him up the officer took him home.  Bachman will receive a citation in the mail charging him with Public Drunkenness.

Citation Issued

At approximately 1:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the Acme on West Road at the request of a The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania, Inc.  Upon my arrival I spoke to representative who stated that she was conducting Act 112 Tobacco Compliance Checks in stores to see if they sell tobacco to minors.  The woman reported that an employee of the Acme did sell a pack of cigarettes to a minor and had neglected to ask for identification confirming that the customer was of legal age to purchase tobacco products.  A citation will be issued to the clerk for her violation.

August 2

Fraud

A resident of Newtown Grant came to headquarters to report the fraudulent use of his ATM Debit card.  The victim relayed that he didn’t know his card was missing and that several charges made to his card on July 8th and 11th for a total of $661.68.

August 3

Bicyclist Injured

Around 12:30 p.m., were dispatched to the area of Stoopville and Eagle Roads for a report bicyclist hit by a car at.  The responding officer made contact with the bicyclist who explained that he had not been struck by a car, but he hit the mailbox with the bikes handlebars which caused him to lose control of his bike and go into the ditch.  The rider was transported to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.  Officers took his damaged bike to his home.
