The Jewish War Veterans Association of Bucks County recently made a generous donation to help fund the Bucks County Veterans Transportation Program.

Just before Thanksgiving, representatives from the Jewish War Veterans Association of Bucks County presented a $20,000 check to Bucks County Director of Veterans Affairs Dan Fraley during an event at the Team Toyota dealership in Middletown.

The $20,000 will be put toward the Bucks County Veterans Transportation Program, which gives local veterans rides to medical facilities in the Philadelphia region. The program has served more than 12,000 veterans and was started in November 2001.

Bucks County Veterans Transportation Program does not receive taxpayer funds and is support by the VA Medical Center in Coatesville, Montgomery County, and through donations.

The Jewish War Veterans Association of Bucks County’s donation is the second largest in the transportation program’s history.
