UPDATE: Police Solve Child Luring Scare

Council Rock School District officials alerted parents Thursday of a possible child luring incident.

According to an email sent to parents, a Wrightstown Elementary School student reported that while walking home from the bus at around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday on Providence Court in Newtown Township a gold sedan with Kentucky plates approached and asked the student to get in the vehicle. The student moved away from the car and went home to report the incident to parents.

There were two people in the car during the incident, a man and a woman, officials said.

The student’s parents alerted the school district and police Thursday morning.

Township police said they have heard from residents who have possibly seen the gold sedan. Officers were assigned to follow up on information received.

“Our officers have increased presence in the area and will remain diligent in their efforts to keep eyes on bus stops while being alert to the vehicle description,” police department spokesperson Jean Tanner said.

Tips can be submitted to Newtown Township police by calling 215-504-2201.
