This weekend, the public is invited to celebrate George Washington’s big day.
Washington Crossing Historic Park in Upper Makefield will celebrate Washington’s 287th birthday Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The buildings and historic village will be open at the park and various children’s activities will be offered. Kids are encouraged to bring birthday cards for Washington, who is portrayed by Middletown resident and Langhorne Borough police Chief John Godzieba.
Reenactors will will be present and Washington will cut into his birthday cake with his sword.
In previously years, there has been admission for the activities, but The Philadelphia Contributionship’s support means the event will be free.
