Trick-Or-Treaters Could Face Rain

Will it rain on Halloween night?

That’s the question thousands of kids throughout the area are wondering.

The answer: It likely will at some point.

The National Weather Service’s Mount Holly, New Jersey, office is calling for rain during the day and chances rain and thunderstorms in the evening. The evening storms could also produce gusty winds and times of heavy rain. The daytime temperature will drop from 73 degrees to 48 degrees overnight.

Based on the prediction from federal forecasters, the best chance for no rain is in the evening hours where trick-or-treating usually takes place.

The system that will hit the area between Thursday and Friday morning is expected to bring about an inch to 1.5 inches of rain to the region, forecasters said.

In light of the forecast, the Tullytown Fire Company is planning to open up their station from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday for kids to stop by and trick-or-treat. Those who wish to hand out candy have been asked to show up at 5:45 p.m. Anyone who wants to save a spot to hand out candy has been asked to contact Karen Cohen at 215-430-1001.
