February 17

Theft

At approximately 11 a.m., police were dispatched to Acme Market for the report of a theft that occurred behind the location. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

February 19

DUI

At approximately 2:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Volkswagen sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Richboro Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

February 20

DUI

At approximately 2:30 am police conducted a traffic stop on an Audi sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Swamp Road and Penns Wood Drive. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

February 22

Assault

Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence around 2:30 a.m. for the report of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, one subject was arrested and charged with assault.

Theft

A Wrightstown Township resident contacted police at approximately 9 am to report the theft of a package. The total value of loss was $3,000.

February 23

DUI

At approximately 3 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Mazda sedan operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Swamp Road and Short Lane. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
