Commercial Vehicle Safety Detail Conducted by Police Results In Citations & Warnings

The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit recently conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area.

The enforcement detail took place last Wednesday on the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive in Newtown Township, resulting in several citations and warnings issued.

The unit, which consists of officers from the Newtown Township Police Department, the Newtown Borough Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department, stopped and inspected 10 trucks during the detail.

According to a statement released by police, one truck was placed out of service, while four citations and 14 warnings were issued for various violations found during the inspections.

The detail aimed to ensure the safety of commercial vehicles operating in the area, which is a high-traffic zone for both residents and businesses.

The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit routinely conducts commercial vehicle safety details to ensure that all commercial vehicles on the roads are operating in compliance with state and federal safety regulations.
