The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit, comprising officers from the Newtown Borough Police Department, Newtown Township Police Department, and Upper Makefield Township Police Department, recently conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail.

The enforcement detail took place last Wednesday in the area of Upper Makefield Township’s Lookout Park on River Road (Route 32).

During the detail, the officers stopped and inspected eleven trucks. As a result of the inspections, the unit issued seven citations and fourteen warnings for various violations. Additionally, three trucks were put out of service, and one was towed.

The safety detail was designed to ensure that commercial vehicles operating in the area adhered to state and federal safety regulations. To further maintain safety standards, the Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit will continue conducting safety details in the future.
