The Bucks County Coroner’s Office and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office are set to hold a combined ceremony for the Unattended Veterans Service at Washington Crossing National Cemetery this week.

The ceremony will be held at 830 Highland Road in Upper Makefield Township on Thursday at 2 p.m.

The event will see the two coroner’s offices inter four unclaimed veterans and the unclaimed wife of a veteran with full military honors.

The veterans and wife of a veteran include William Bauer, U.S. Army (Specialist) from the Vietnam War-era, of Warminster Township; Amelia Emma Caro, wife of a World War II veteran, of Bristol Township; John Campbell Morgan, U.S. Navy (Yeoman Seaman Recruit) from the Vietnam War-era, of Warrington Township; William Strauss, U.S. Army (Private First Class) from the Korean War-era, of Springfield Township; and Leonard Wilson, U.S. Army (Recruit) from the Korean War-era, of Middletown Township.

During the ceremony, the names of the veterans will be read, and the Pennsylvania Military Honors team will present the flag on behalf of the veterans. A rifle salute and live Taps will be provided.

Following the ceremony at the national cemetery, the veterans and veteran’s wife will each be placed in their own niche in the columbarium, which will be engraved with “Proudly Served” and “Loving Wife.”

The public has been invited to join the ceremony and pay their respects to the unclaimed veterans and wife of a veteran.
