Newtown Theatre Hosting Series Of Free Kids’ Movies

Newtown Theatre announces its annual series of free kids’ movies with a “wildlife” theme.

The Newtown Theatre is set to delight young audiences this summer with its annual series of free kids’ movies.

The screenings at the historic theater on State Street in Newtown Borough will take place on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. and feature a captivating “wildlife” theme.

No reservations or tickets are required to attend these movies, as seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The doors will open one hour before showtime, ensuring families have time to secure their seats.

The series kicked off with “Shark Tale” last Wednesday.

The summer lineup boasts a diverse selection of films, providing entertainment for children of all ages. The schedule includes the following titles:

  • “Free Willy” on Wednesday, June 28 at 10 a.m.
  • “Madagascar” on Wednesday, July 5 at 10 a.m.
  • “Ice Age” on Wednesday, July 19 at 10 a.m.
  • “A Bug’s Life” on Wednesday, July 26 at 10 a.m.
  • “Over the Hedge” on Wednesday, August 2 at 10 a.m.
  • “Zootopia” on Wednesday, August 16 at 10 a.m.
  • “Chicken Run” on Wednesday, August 23 at 10 a.m.
  • “The Lion King” on Wednesday, August 30 at 10 a.m.

The these screenings are exclusively for families and not open to summer camps.
