The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit held a commercial vehicle safety detail last week.

The detail took place in the area of Brandywine Boulevard and Lindenhurst Road in Newtown Township last Wednesday.

Out of the nine trucks that were stopped and inspected during the operation, one was deemed unfit for the road and was subsequently placed out of service. It was towed from the scene, police said.

In addition, the officers issued three formal citations and six warnings for various infractions they discovered during their inspections, police said.

The specialized enforcement unit comprises officers from the Newtown Township Police Department, the Newtown Borough Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department. The mission is to ensure that commercial vehicles operating within the area adhere to all safety regulations and standards.
