Halloween Parade Set To March On South State Street

The annual Newtown Halloween Parade will take place this weekend in Newtown Borough.

The parade is scheduled for Saturday with judging to commence at 9:30 a.m. and the parade officially kicking off at 10 a.m.

Led by the the Council Rock North Marching Band from the Stocking Works, the parade will navigate its way from South State Street, turning onto Greene Street, and culminating at Officer Brian Gregg Memorial Park.

Attendees are urged to arrive ahead of time to enjoy the full parade experience. Additional details can be found at the Newtown Halloween Parade’s website.

For motorists in the area, expect delays due to road closures.

The Newtown Borough Police Department has issued the following traffic advisories:

  • Parking Restrictions: From 8 a.m., no vehicles will be allowed to park on South State Street stretching from Centre Avenue to Washington Avenue. For those parked in the Newtown Borough Municipal parking lots, the only available exit route will be via Centre Avenue, heading west toward Sycamore Street.
  • Road Closures: Beginning at 9:40 a.m., several streets will be closed, including South State Street (from Barclay Street to Jefferson Street), Greene Street (from State Street to Congress Street), North Congress Street (from Washington Avenue to Jefferson Street), and Liberty Street (from Washington Avenue to Jefferson Street). Additionally, Washington Avenue (between the municipal parking lot and State Street) and Centre Avenue Bridge will be shut down at the start of the parade.
