George Washington was celebrated with cake on his 292nd birthday at Washington Crossing Historic Park in Upper Makefield Township.
On Sunday, ahead of Presidents’ Day, crowds gathered to witness John Godzieba, who portrays Washington, ceremonially cut a birthday cake with his sword at the historic site where Washington famously crossed the Delaware River during the Revolutionary War.
Attendees joined in to sing “Happy Birthday” in honor of the occasion.
The celebration featured birthday cards made by local children, which were displayed at the event. In addition, guests were treated to cupcakes, sharing in the joy of the day.
Washington Crossing Historic Park opened its doors to the public for free tours and children’s activities.
