February 24

Drug Arrest

At approximately 2:23 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Delaware Court. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence.  The operator was arrested and charges are pending.

February 29

Theft From Vehicle

At approximately 9 a.m., police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Society Place for the report of a theft from a vehicle.  The victim stated that someone entered her vehicle overnight and removed her purse.  While in the area, another resident came forward and stated that their vehicle had also been entered, however, nothing was stolen.

March 1

DUI

At approximately 3:18 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a disabled Toyota sedan in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

March 3

DUI

At approximately 9:14 am police conducted a traffic stop on a disabled Honda CRV in the area of Stoopville Road and Linton Hill Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.

March 6

Truck Detail

The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive. The unit is made up of officers from this department, the Newtown Borough Police Department, and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department. During the detail, 10 trucks were stopped and inspected.  No trucks were placed out of service. 1 citation and 6 warnings were issued for violations that were found.
