Lower Bucks County residents were treated to an unusual sight on Easter as a low-flying helicopter hovered over parts of Bristol Township, Middletown Township, and Newtown Township.

Officials have confirmed there’s no cause for alarm: the helicopter was conducting afternoon inspections of powerlines in the area.

Flight tracking data and eyewitness accounts revealed that the helicopter examining the transmission lines in the area.

Newtown Township police confirmed the helicopter was conducting an inspection for PECO.

“For anyone inquiring about a low flying helicopter in the area, there is no cause for alarm,” police said.

The message came in response to a flurry of photos and videos shared by residents on social platforms.

Flight tracking data and photos showed the chopper was just a few hundred feet above the ground.

The helicopter inspections are not uncommon in the area and usually cause a stir.

The helicopter inspections are part of the utility company’s process to look at equipment and identify maintenance work that may be needed, a PECO spokesperson said earlier this week.
