As part of efforts to combat the rising tide of scams in Pennsylvania, the Washington Crossing United Methodist Church will host a seminar on the latest fraudulent schemes targeting residents.

The event by the Upper Makefield Township Police Department and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General will take place on Thursday, April 25, at 7 p.m.

Local residents are invited to attend the free event at the church located at 1895 Wrightstown Road in Upper Makefield Township.

The presentation aims to educate the public on the most prevalent scams currently circulating in Pennsylvania, including robocalls, social media messages, texts, and emails, organizers said.

“Scammers and fraudsters target Pennsylvanians every day in an effort to gain access to our money or personal information. They target our emotions in hopes that we will let our guard down and believe the scams they are perpetrating,” police said.

Attendees will learn about the tactics used by scammers to access personal information and money, and will receive tips on how to protect themselves.
