The Council Rock School District is considering the addition of full-day kindergarten.
The district has partnered with education market research firm Hanover Research to conduct a kindergarten interest survey.
The survey opened on Monday, May 20, will run through June 2.
The survey looks to gather feedback from the community to inform the school board and district leadership as they make future decisions regarding the potential program, the district said in a statement.
All members of the Council Rock community, including parents, families, staff, and other community members, are encouraged to participate in the survey.
The survey can be accessed at the following link: Council Rock Kindergarten Interest Survey.
Council Rock will receive the survey results in aggregate form to make sure that no personally identifiable information is collected or reported.
“Council Rock asks the community to share the survey with parents and families who may not yet have children in CR schools. The survey question are structured to include responses from as many district stakeholders as possible, and will help guide the district’s decisions on kindergarten in the future,” the district said in the statement.
In addition to the survey, a kindergarten information session for the community is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4, at 7 p.m. at Holland Middle School in Northampton Township.
The Council Rock School Board has looked at full-day kindergarten in the past.
In 2017, officials decided not to move forward with full-day kindergarten and retain its half-day kindergarten program.
