May 16
Theft From Vehicle
At approximately 12:30 p.m., a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report a theft from his vehicle. The theft occurred while the vehicle was unlocked and parked outside of his residence, and the total value of loss was under $25.
May 18
DUI
At approximately 1 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a GMC pickup truck operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Lower Silver Lake Road. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were also discovered and seized as evidence. The operator refused to submit blood for chemical testing, and charges are pending.
Retail Theft
At approximately 4:45 p.m., police were dispatched for a retail theft at McCaffrey’s Food Market. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Drug Arrest
At approximately 11:45 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Summit Trace Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug equipment were discovered and seized as evidence, and the female operator was arrested in connection.
May 19
Arrest
Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence at approximately 8:45 p.m. for the report of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, one female subject was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department without incident.
May 20
Theft
A Wrightstown Township resident responded to headquarters around 3 p.m. to report a theft from her mailbox. She explained that there was nothing of value taken, just a few Mother’s Day cards.
Retail Theft
At approximately 5:30 p.m., police were dispatched for a retail theft in progress at Lululemon. As a result of the investigation, three juveniles were taken into custody and charged in connection.
May 21
Weapon Possession
Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence around 1:35 a.m. for the report of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, one male subject was taken into custody and charged with weapon possession, criminal mischief, and loitering and prowling at night.
May 23
Fraud
A business located in Newtown Township contacted police just before noon to report fraud. A check was stolen from their outgoing mail and forged by an unknown party. The check was flagged, and the business did not suffer a monetary loss.
