Newtown Man Injured After SUV Hits Tree, Cited For Speeding

A local man is being cited after a crash.

A man sustained a minor injury after his SUV crashed into a tree in Middletown Township, authorities said.

Pennsylvania State Police reported that the crash occurred on the afternoon of May 21 when a 38-year-old Newtown man was driving his 2014 Toyota SUV at a high rate of speed on eastbound I-295.

According to state police, the SUV left the roadway, entered a ditch, shot up a hill, and collided with a tree before spinning around.

The driver complained of a leg injury following the crash, but he declined medical transport to the hospital, state police said.

Troopers stated that the Newtown man would be cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
