The Council Rock Newtown Little League team has clinched a spot in the Little League World Series after a nationally-televised game on Friday.
The Council Rock Newtown Little League team defeated Washington D.C. 5-1 in a rain-delayed Mid-Atlantic Region final in Bristol, Connecticut.
The team, which has remained undefeated in district, section, and states, showcased their skills again during the tournament, according to PhillyBurbs.com.
The victory on Friday followed an 11-1 win over Maryland on Tuesday.
The Tuesday win set up a showdown with the Washington D.C. team, a rematch of last weekend’s game where Council Rock Newtown Little League won.
The Little League World Series is set to begin next week in Williamsport. Teams from around the globe compete in one of youth baseball’s most prestigious tournaments.
