Traffic will be impacted on Newtown-Richboro Road in Newtown and Northampton townships starting Tuesday.
Through early October from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a weekday lane closure is scheduled on Newtown Richboro Road between West Hanover Street and Rock Way.
The lane closure is planned for a PennDOT pipe replacement project along the roadway.
Drivers have been asked to give extra time when traveling through the area. Backups and delays are expected, according to PennDOT.
The pipe replacement work will be dependent on the weather.
PennDOT officials said the project is part of a $14.9 million regional stormwater management facilities upgrade initiative.
Highway Materials Inc., of Flourtown, Montgomery County, has been hired as the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
