Road milling and paving work is getting underway in Newtown Borough.

Impacted areas will be closed to through traffic but will remain open for local residents, emergency vehicles, and buses. The work schedule is set from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The road closures are anticipated to last about two days per segment—one day for milling and another for paving, officials said.

A schedule from borough officials said that milling will start Thursday, October 10, and paving on the following day, October 11.

The streets impacted are: North State Street, Jefferson Street, North Elm Avenue, South Norwood, and South Congress.

Borough officials said streets will be posted to advise residents and businesses of the road work.

“We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these important roadway improvements. For additional information or updates, please contact the borough office. Thank you for your understanding,” officials said.
