The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors last week approved plans for two new eateries at the Village at Newtown.

Love and Honey Fried Chicken and Flourish Cafe are set to take over spaces previously occupied by Halal Guys and Koi in the popular shopping center.

Laura Lyons, who co-founded Love and Honey Fried Chicken with her husband, describes their concept as “elevated fast casual” with an Americana-inspired menu.

“We’re not fast food. We’re both classically trained chefs with lifelong experience in the industry,” she said.

The new location will be part of the company’s franchise expansion, which builds on their success in Philadelphia’s Northern Liberties neighborhood.

Flourish Cafe, which is owned by Madina Chilashvili, brings eastern European flavors to the table.

Chilashvili points to their success at their Village Shires location in Northampton Township.

“We’ve been open for three years and have done really well. Everything on our menu is made from scratch, and we’ve earned a five-star reputation in the area,” she said.

She told the supervisors the location will serve popular dishes like pumpkin soup, farmer cheese delights, and potato pancakes.

The board unanimously approved Love and Honey Fried Chicken’s and Flourish Cafe’s conditional use applications.
