State Rep. Perry Warren, a Democrat from Newtown Borough, successfully defended his seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives against Republican challenger Bernie Sauer in Tuesday’s election.

According to unofficial results, Warren gained 58.9 percent of the vote and Sauer earned 40.9 percent.

Warren, who has served in the state House since 2018, held back Sauer, a developer also from Newtown Borough, who had previously faced Warren in the 2022 election.

An attorney by profession, Warren previously served on the Newtown Borough Council before moving to state politics in 2016.

His legislative achievements include the introduction of a bill that ended child marriage in Pennsylvania. The lawmaker has also been active in advocating for gun safety, introducing several related bills aimed at tightening regulations.
