The Lingohocken Fire Company is set to receive a new fire pumper truck thanks to a $1 million state grant.
The volunteer fire company, which serves Wrightstown Township and parts of Buckingham and Upper Makefield townships, will use $1 million from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Local Share Account grant program to purchase a 2027 Pierce Enforcer Pumper.
The new fire truck will replace an aging vehicle that has been in use for over two decades.
A pumper truck is key for the volunteer fire company given the lack of public water supply in the area.
State Rep. Kristin Marcell and State Sen. Frank Farry, both Republicans, played key roles in securing the funding in collaboration with the fire company and local officials from Wrightstown Township.
“We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to PA State Senator Frank Farry and his staff, PA State Representative Kristin Marcell and her staff, the Wrightstown Township Board of Supervisors and their staff, and the Commonwealth Financing Authority for their hard work in securing these funds for our organization,” the fire company stated.
The Local Share Account program is managed by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and distributes gaming revenues to support various community projects.
Founded in 1913, the Lingohocken Fire Company operates stations in Buckingham and Wrightstown townships, providing vital emergency services to the community.
