New Officer Joins Upper Makefield Police Force

The police department has brought on a new lawman.

Upper Makefield Township has added a new officer to its police force.

Last month month, Officer Eric Bauer joined the department as its newest patrolman.

At the Upper Makefield Township Board of Supervisors meeting, Bauer was officially sworn in by District Judge Mick Petrucci.

The ceremony was attended by Bauer’s family, friends, and fellow township officers.

A native of Bucks County, Bauer graduated from Archbishop Wood High School before earning a degree in Media and Communication Studies from Ursinus College where he also played lacrosse, said Chief of Police Mark Schmidt.

Bauer’s law enforcement training was completed at the Temple University Municipal Police Academy in October. He distinguished himself by receiving the physical fitness award and the top shot firearms award, the chief said.

Bauer has begun his field training in the township.
