St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown Township celebrated the arrival of Lower Bucks County’s first baby of 2025.

A baby boy, who is yet to be named, was born to Pooja Bhavsar, of Bensalem Township, at 3:27 a.m. on New Year’s Day. He weighed in at 4 pounds, 12 ounces, according to hospital spokesperson Jason Griffith.

“We are thrilled to welcome the first baby of the new year at St. Mary Medical Center—a true symbol of hope and new beginnings for our community,“ said Dr. Michael Magro, president of St. Mary Medical Center. “This joyous occasion reminds us of the precious lives entrusted to our care and renews our commitment to providing exceptional service to every patient we serve. Congratulations to the proud family on this beautiful milestone!”

The hospital extended its congratulations to Bhavsar and her family.

Data has shown that New Year’s Day is one of the least common dates for births.

According to data from FiveThirtyEight, between 1994 and 2014, January 1 is the second least popular birthday, trailing only Christmas.
