Bucks County’s 9-1-1 center confirmed Friday afternoon that the state is having problems with its emergency phone system.

The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency issued an urgent phone alert to residents just before 3:30 p.m. warning of a “statewide intermittent 911 outage.”

The message advised people to contact local 9-1-1 centers on their non-emergency lines.

Bucks County officials urged residents to call 215-328-8500 if 9-1-1 is not working for them.

In addition to Bucks County, multiple other counties in the state are advising of the same issue.

Additional details on the problem were not public as of 3:35 p.m.
