
The Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission is hosting “Save A Life Day” on Thursday, and they will be offering free naloxone at multiple locations throughout the county.
The event is described by organizers as the country’s largest annual free naloxone distribution day.
Naloxone is an opioid overdose reversal medication that can be easily administered.
Organizers said the day’s goal is to increase awareness about overdoses and to help residents be prepared to deal with them by providing life-saving resources.
The public can pick up the medication at the following locations and times:
• Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission, 55 E. Court St., fourth floor, Doylestown Borough, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Bucks County Human Services’ The Hub, 55 E. Court St., first floor, Doylestown Borough, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Southern Bucks Recovery Community Center, 1286 Veterans Highway, Bristol Township, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Family Service Association of Bucks County, 4 Cornerstone Drive, Middletown Township, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Bucks County Free Library’s Quakertown branch, 401 W. Mill St., Quakertown, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Bucks County Free Library’s Yardley-Makefield branch, 1080 Edgewood Road, Lower Makefield Township, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• St. Luke’s Grand View Hospital, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• St. Luke’s Penn Foundation Recovery Center, 807 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• St. Luke’s Upper Bucks campus, 3000 St. Lukes Drive, Quakertown, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Care and Share Thrift Shops, 783 Route 113, Souderton, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Naloxone is available year-round to the public from the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission, Family Service Association, The Hub, and Penn Foundation’s Recovery Center in Sellersville.
