The Upper Makefield Township Police Department is investigating two early morning burglaries, which investigators believe may be linked to a third break-in in Yardley Borough.
Officers from the Upper Makefield Township Police Department first responded to an alarm at Voltage Bikes in the 1000 block of River Road at 2:42 a.m. on Jan. 2.
Officers arrived within two minutes to find the front door had been forced open, police said.
While evidence was collected at the scene, police said the perpetrators fled in an unknown vehicle before officers arrived and did not take any merchandise.
Shortly after the first incident, officers were called to Francisco’s on the River in the 1200 block of River Road for a burglary report.
Staff at the restaurant reported that someone had forced entry through the front door, police said.
Investigators processed the scene and confirmed that an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.
Upper Makefield Township authorities believe the two River Road burglaries were committed by the same suspects.
A third burglary reported Sunday at Station Dry Cleaners on Main Street in Yardley Borough may be connected to the Upper Makefield crimes, according to a report by 6abc.
In the Yardley Borough incident, a witness reported seeing a silver Honda Accord parked on Main Street and occupied by two people. The witness told police they saw one person walk across the street toward Station Dry Cleaners and Yardley Pharmacy, heard the sound of breaking glass, and then watched the person return to the Honda.
The vehicle then fled north on South Main Street, police said.
Yardley Borough officers collected physical evidence, which has been sent for laboratory analysis, and video footage from the scene
