UPDATE: Second Street Pike Reopens After Crash

The road has reopened, police said.

Original Story:

A two-vehicle crash involving a tow truck caused the closure of Second Street Pike on Tuesday morning.

Emergency personnel, including Newtown Township Police Department, medics, and firefighters, were dispatched to the scene between Swamp Road and Twining Road at approximately 11:48 a.m.

Police said there were reports of a crash with injuries.

A tow truck that appeared to be involved in the wreck traveled off the roadway not far from the bridge spanning the Neshaminy Creek.

Police closed the section of Second Street Pike shortly after the crash.

As of 12:30 p.m., the roadway remained closed to all traffic as crews worked the scene.
