Several locations across Bucks County will serve as drop-off sites for the 5th annual Magellan Healthcare Food Drive, a regional effort aimed at supporting individuals and families facing food insecurity.

The drive will run from May 4 through June 12, benefiting Montgomery County Anti-Hunger Network and organizations  including the Bucks County Opportunity Council, which provides food assistance and resources to residents throughout the county. The initiative is part of a broader Bucks-Mont partnership focused on strengthening the local food safety net.

In Bucks County, donation sites include the Bucks County Administrative Office in Doylestown, Commonplace Reader in Yardley, Family Service Emergency Shelter in Levittown, Southampton Free Library, TESCO in Bristol, and the Warrington Township Police Station.

Officials said donations will directly benefit residents facing hardship, while also contributing to a larger system that distributed more than 1 million pounds of food in 2025 across 77 partner organizations. The network has seen a 140% increase in food distribution since 2022, highlighting growing demand across the region.

Residents are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items and essential household goods during the collection period. Most-needed food items include cereal, pasta, canned soups, fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, baking supplies, boxed beverages such as juice and milk, and culturally specific or dietary foods such as gluten-free, kosher or halal options. Non-food items in demand include diapers in sizes 5 through 7 and pull-ups, pet food, cleaning supplies, storage bags and personal hygiene products such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap and shampoo.

Organizers remind donors to check expiration dates before donating and note that homemade items cannot be accepted.

The annual drive is coordinated by Magellan Health in partnership with county agencies and community organizations in both Bucks and Montgomery counties, working to address growing demand for food assistance and provide critical support to those in need.
