The Bucks County Coroner’s Office released the name of the woman who died after a Wrightstown Township crash.

Coroner Patti Campi identified the deceased as Carmela Alvino, 87, of Yardley.

Alvino was one of four people hospitalized after the crash on Durham Road.

Newtown Township police, who provide patrol services for Wrightstown Township, responded to reports of a serious wreck in the 400 block of Durham Road at 11:07 a.m. Crews from the Lingohocken Fire Company and several local ambulance squads assisted at the scene.

At the scene, responders found an overturned Jeep Cherokee containing three occupants. A second vehicle, a Honda Odyssey, was found in a nearby grassy area with one person inside, police said.

Preliminary investigation showed the Honda Odyssey was stopped in the northbound lane of Durham Road, preparing to make a left turn into a local business. A Jeep traveling in the same direction was unable to stop, police said. As the Honda began its turn, the Jeep entered the oncoming lane, resulting in the collision, police said.

Authorities have asked anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Officer Nicklaus Whitney at 215-579-1000, ext. 316.
