The New York-style Jewish deli was known for serving authentic Gotham favorites, including Ess-a-bagels, traditional deli sandwiches, and a variety of specialty dishes.

“We appreciate the many wonderful years and the loyalty of our customers at The Borscht Belt Newtown,” the ownership group said in a statement on Wednesday.

A public listing on a business sales website featured what appeared to be the Newtown Township restaurant priced at $249,000.

In a social media posting, the eatery is advising patrons to visit their remaining brick-and-mortar location in Chestnut Hill or to track the Borscht Belt food truck. Additionally, the business teased a new upcoming venture at the Quakerbridge Mall in New Jersey, which will focus on smash burgers and hand-carved sandwiches.

The eatery’s concept was originally envisioned in 2020 by co-founders Nick Liberato and Mike Dalewitz. The pair sought to fill a area’s demand for nostalgic, cultural, and family-centric dining experiences modeled after the historic Borscht Belt era.

Liberato, a chef who built a career in Los Angeles catering and television, returned to his Bucks County roots to launch the venture.

The brand first debuted in Stockton, New Jersey, in June 2021 before moving its operations to Newtown Township in the spring of 2023.

The business also operated a location within the St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown Township.
