Driver Avoids Attempted Murder Charge, Pleads Guilty To Other Charges For Road-Rage Shooting

A man accused of repeatedly firing at another driver during a Lower Bucks County road rage encounter pleaded guilty to nine charges, including two felony counts of aggravated assault, and avoided prosecution on attempted murder.

Christopher Corbi, 41, who has recent addresses in Warringtown and Upper Southampton townships, entered the pleas last Wednesday before Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Wallace Bateman Jr. The charges included aggravated assault under circumstances demonstrating extreme indifference to human life and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Corbi also pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of propelling a missile into an occupied vehicle, possessing an instrument of crime, possessing a weapon, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

Prosecutors withdrew the first-degree attempted murder charge and three additional counts of propelling a missile into an occupied vehicle, court records show.

The charges stemmed from an Oct. 27, 2025, shooting that began on the Newtown Bypass between Summit Trace and Woodbourne Road in Newtown Township.

Police said a woman was passing Corbi’s slow-moving Honda Civic when he fired into her vehicle.

The woman slowed down and followed the Honda while calling 911 in an attempt to obtain its license plate number, according to investigators.

Police said Corbi turned into the Swan Pointe development in Middletown Township, stopped and exited his car before firing additional rounds toward the woman’s vehicle.

One of the shots struck her wrist.

The woman’s vehicle sustained several bullet holes, including one through its windshield, police said. She later told 6abc, as reported by Law&Crime, that she had not honked, gestured at or otherwise confronted Corbi before the shooting.

Police from several departments located Corbi’s Honda about 30 minutes later in the parking lot of the Village Market on Washington Crossing Road in Lower Makefield Township.

He was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators said Corbi admitted firing twice into the woman’s vehicle on the bypass and firing another shot after she followed him into Swan Pointe. He later directed officers to a trash can outside PetSmart in Newtown Township, where police recovered a revolver wrapped in a grocery bag, according to authorities.

Corbi also told investigators he discarded a box of ammunition in a trash can outside the Newtown Farmer’s Market, police said.

Corbi is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 29. He remains free after posting 10% of $1 million bail and is represented by Bensalem attorney Paul Jared Mallis.
