The Pennsylvania State Police plan to cite a Newtown driver who crashed into a Washington Crossing Toll-Supported Bridge rail last month.
The Newtown man was driving a Lincoln MKX truck across the bridge shortly before 2:13 p.m. on July 2 when he struck the rail, according to state police.

The impact sheared off the Lincoln’s front right wheel assembly, state police said.
Because the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission-owned span features limited clearance on both sides, the disabled Lincoln blocked the roadway until it could be removed, state police said.
No injuries were reported in the collision, and troopers said the bridge structure suffered no serious damage.

State police said in a statement that the driver will receive a citation in connection with the crash.
